“The heavens proclaim the glory of God; the skies display His craftsmanship.” (Psalm 19:1, NLT)
Good morning, dear church family,
In his book Here and Now, Henri Nouwen shares about a friend who radiates joy even in the midst of suffering. This friend doesn’t deny sorrow, but his heart always turns toward the light that shines in the darkness. Through him, Nouwen learned that hope is more real than despair, faith is more real than distrust, and love is more real than fear.
There is always a sun, even when clouds fill the sky.
This week, I saw that sun of hope in many places—
in the eyes of our church family during worship and fellowship,
in a breathtaking sunset,
in a conversation with Lydia and Abe in the car as they returned to school,
in the smile of a newborn baby,
and in the joyful reunions of freed hostages and their families...
God is always at work around us and among us. May we join Him and be those who always speak about the sun, messengers of hope in a weary world.
If you haven’t yet, you can watch Sunday’s services at Mars Hill UMC (Facebook) and Houlton UMC (YouTube), and read the message, “Miracle of Love” (Acts 14:8–20).
Have a blessed week. Love you all.
Pastor Victor
