Dream Team This Friday at 10 AM

Dear beloved Dream Team members,

Greetings in the name of Jesus! I hope you are doing well.

This week’s weather reminds me of Anne of Green Gables’ famous line: “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”

Our Dream Team will meet this Friday, October 3, at 10 AM at Houlton UMC in the upstairs choir room. We will continue our conversation on Chapter 3: An Effective Approach to Cooperative Parishes. The discussion guide is attached for your reference.

If you are interested, you are warmly invited to join our Church Fall Outing afterward. Pizza and drinks will be provided. We will leave at 12:00 noon* (*Please note the departure time change) for Tekakapimek Contact Station (about an hour’s drive) and plan to return by 4:00 PM.

Thank you so much for your faithful partnership. I look forward to seeing you on Friday!

In Christ's love,
Pastor Victor

Chapter 3: Cooperating Through Ministry

What About Worship? (pp. 72–73)

1.    How would you describe your worship experience? What is your favorite moment during the service? Since our new appointment in July, have you noticed anything different or missing?

2.    What new opportunities for worship do you see?

3.    What worship styles and times might be most meaningful for new people (our targeted mosaic)?

Signature Ministry (pp. 74–78)

1.    When you think about our church and its history, what do you believe are our core values—our “DNA”?

2.    If our church were gone tomorrow, what would the community miss most?

3.    What do you hope to see in our church three to five years from now?

4.    If you had a magic wand and could make one change—without worrying about finances or trustee approval—what would you do?

5.    In our church life, what are some examples of relational ministry and transactional ministry? How can we shift more toward relational ministry? (p. 66)
