God always speaks...through prayer, through conversations with friends, and through the beauty of nature.
This morning, I heard God’s voice through today’s Upper Room devotion. It told the story of a young boy who offered his simple meal—five loaves and two fish. The story of the Feeding of the Five Thousand has always been one of my favorites in the Bible. Whenever I feel like I’m not enough, this story brings deep comfort and assurance: God’s grace is always enough, no matter what.
Perhaps you felt something similar this past Sunday. For me and my family, it was an emotionally difficult day—the first Sunday we weren’t able to worship together as a whole family. Some of my children wept. I wept inside, too. It felt like a piece of my heart was missing. The sanctuary felt more empty than ever.
But in my devotion time, God gently shifted my focus back to gratitude—through the same story of the five loaves and two fish.
Today, I want to express heartfelt thanks:
... I’m grateful for Spirit-filled worship.
... I’m grateful for the sweet fellowship we share.
... I’m grateful for all of our faithful leaders and servants—greeters, coffee hour hosts and hostesses, children’s messengers, Sunday School teachers, musicians, communion stewards, tech team, liturgists, and preachers.
... I’m especially grateful to Jack Forbush, who preached at Mars Hill UMC this Sunday. Thank you also to our dedicated Lay Servant Ministry team and Pastor Mary for your faithful leadership and partnership in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

May the Lord take our five loaves and two fish—and use them for His glory this week.
